Family get-togethers are the perfect time for building relationships between children and their extended family members. Often though, the kids are off playing while the adults cook, reminisce, and/or watch football. This year, shake it up a little bit with this fun game for holiday gatherings. It will get the kids and the adults interacting more and might even spark the children’s interest in learning more about the family.
I call it the Baby Face Game but you can call it whatever you want. You can get the instructions and the printable game sheets here.
Although I suggest printing the full instructions, here’s the basic idea.
- You will display childhood photos of each adult who is attending your family gathering. Each photo will have a corresponding number identifying it.
- The children will then write who they think is in each photo next to the appropriate number on their answer sheet.
- The children may want to walk around the room to see if they see any resemblance, OR you may allow them to bring any adult to the display table for 1 minute so they can try to figure it out.
- The child with the most correct answers wins.
- You may also want to have an adult winner. It might be the one who was identified correctly the most… or the least. It’s your call!
