Ready!“Preparing to Write Your Memoir” (or Autobiography) is a five-part series with tips and tools to help you get ready to jump in and write. We break it down into simple steps so before you know it, you’ll be knocking out your first chapter!

  1. Gather Your Tools – Part 1 will help make sure you have all that you need to stay organized and keep moving.
  2. Getting Out of the Gate – Part 2 will help you build momentum and enthusiasm for your project by helping you brainstorm some of your best “stuff”!
  3. Test Your Dictation Tools – Part 3 discusses a variety of different methods for converting speech to text that might just speed up the process of writing your stories.
  4. Filling in the Gaps – Part 4 will help you get going on any research you may need to do to enhance your stories.
  5. “A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words” – Part 5 gives suggestions for gathering and handling any photos or other documents that you may want to include in your project.
